Bullpen is Big Question this Year

Wednesday, 17 March 2010 18:45

I was already concerned about the pitching staff this year and now it has become a major concern. With Cory Wade out a couple of months, Kuo having arm problems again, and Belisario having visa issues, things seem to be getting worse. The main thing these guys that aren't able to play do is eat up innings. The Dodgers already have some questions about their starting rotation but the bullpen was supposed to be their strength. Thinking about last year, it seemed that Wade was in like 85% of games, although that is probably a high estimation. It now certainly seems as if the Dodgers are going to be throwing out there some young guys that most people haven't heard of or some older guys that might be well past their prime. It definitely means the starters are going to have to get through more innings than in the past to get to the end of the bullpen and try to avoid the middle relievers.

On another note, it was great seeing a lot of the so-called young guys making the all-decade team. I am still a true believer that with all the talent already in place, the Dodgers were right in not going out and making lots of changes this off season. I know it is perceived that the Dodgers didn't make many moves because of the divorce going on, but I think that wouldn't have happened anyway. Keep thew faith!

Young Guys Looking Like Veterens

Tuesday, 16 March 2010 01:14
Is it me or are Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier looking like guys that have been in the Major leagues for 5 years. Watching the spring training game the other day, those guys look confident and like they have become leaders. There was a lot of talk in the off season that the Dodgers didn't do enough to improve their team. Well maybe, just maybe, they have enough with the guys they have. I think we need to give Ned and Joe some credit that they know how to evaluate talent and can see that the guys from last year are just better. Sometimes a team just needs to grow together instead of always making changes. There might just be a bunch of allstars, let by Kemp and Ethier, that this Dodger team didn't need anyone else. We will See!

Season Tickets are In

Friday, 12 March 2010 21:17
The Dodgers have sent out their season tickets to all account holders. It takes time to sort all the tickets but orders will be filled in the next few days. If your a big fan, this is the start of the season. You can't go to a game without the tickets so this is at least the start. With a lot of luck on the injury front, this should be a great year. Manny, make up for last year and show that you are a great player.

These Injuries are Making Me Nervous

Tuesday, 09 March 2010 18:45
First it was Russell Martin, then it was Corey Wade, now Casey Blake. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come this year. All three guys are big parts of the Dodgers chances this year. I feel confident Blake and Wade will be ready for opening day but this is getting scary. Without making many moves in the off season, the one thing the Dodgers are lacking is a lot of depth and can't afford a lot of injuries. I don't know the best formula between getting ready for the season and rest, but Joe Torre better figure it out fast.

Tickets went on Sale Today

Saturday, 06 March 2010 19:28
Dodgers tickets went on sale today at 10:00 a.m. local time. If you were looking for opening day or any of the Yankees games, you didn't get anything. Opening day was supposed to go on sale but nothing was available and the Yankees games were not put on sale. The only way to get those games through the Dodgers was to purchase season seats or a mini-plan. Definitely need to go through other avenues if you want to see those games.

Dodgers Tickets Go On Sale

Thursday, 04 March 2010 22:09
Tickets for the 2010 season go on sale this Saturday. There will be a lot of people looking for those hot Dodgers vs. Yankees tickets and be very upset. The only way to get those is either season seats or a mini-plan. So unless you are looking to buy either 20 other games or full season tickets, you will need to go to dodgerstickets.net and pay a premium. However, that premium price will be much cheaper than buying 20 other games.
