Looking at the professional baseball league, is it easy to say that the los Angeles dodgers have the best records in all major leagues considering the fact that all but three dodgers were only voted into the All-Star game? There are three angles to look at this:
1. Personnel are Scarce. By this I mean that they do not have that many personnel to send to the mid-season classic. So, considering the fact that some other teams are not as fortunate because they are only sending one representative, the Los Angeles dodgers ought to be happy to have secured the prize thrice.
However, this is a weak argument, considering the fact Juan Pierre and Matt Kemp who did the grunt work and carried the team on their shoulders when Manny Ramirez wasn’t available are noticeably missing from the list.
2. The reason the dodgers could send in just three players is mostly due to their balanced attack formation and the fact that everyone is making the best possible use of his ability. This therefore means that the LA dodgers can still win with no more than three standouts. In fact, it is an honor and amazing that they are sending three players to the July match-up with the American league.
3. It is possible that many dodger fans refused to vote compared to other fans of other baseball teams in other cities and states. This is not surprising at all as the los Angeles dodgers fans have been known to leave the game at the 7th inning stretch just so they don't get caught in the traffic jam on Interstate 5.
You could look at the summer classic from the perspective of good and bad. Good in the sense that you’ll get to see a horde of impressive talents that are not exactly obvious in their own teams. And even when they are, their talents stand out in the classic more.
The bad part is that really good players can get injured in a competition that doesn’t do anything other than to empower the World Series representative and give him more leverage. Whatever the case may be, having three dodgers representing the Los Angeles dodgers is a very good thing even though we would have wished for more.
