Los Angeles Dodgers-No Hitters

The LA dodgers who moved to los Angeles in 1958 have played a lot of games and taken part in many seasons and postseasons, some of which they won the championships and World series. From 1958 till date, there have been quite a few no-hitters. IN this article, we’ll look briefly at each and every of these events.


LA Dodgers Vs New York Mets (June 30, 1962)


During this game, Sandy Koufax was able to pitch a no-hitter when the LA dodgers beat the New York Mets 5-0. During this game, he was able to strike out 13.


LA Dodgers Vs San Francisco Giants (May 11, 1963)


During this game, Sandy Koufax was able to pitch a no-hitter. Facing 28 batters, he struck out at 4, and walks 2 so that the LA dodgers won the game 8-nil. This was the fourth game that Sandy Koufax won for the dodgers.


LA Dodgers Vs Philadelphia Phillies (4th June, 1964)


During this game, the LA dodgers beat the Phillies 3-0 when Sandy Koufax pitched 3 straight no-hitters, struck out 12 batters and walks just 1. Frank Howard sealed the game when he drove home all the three runs with one home run during the seventh inning.


Los Angeles Dodgers Against Chicago Cubs (9th September, 1965)


During this game, Sandy Koufax was able to pitch 4 no-hitters winning the game flawlessly, thus making him the first in the history of baseball to achieve that. The Los Angeles Dodgers won the game 1-0.


Los Angeles Dodger Vs Philadelphia Phillies (20th July, 1970)


During the game, Bill Singer was able to pitch a no-hitter –the 5th since Brooklyn dodgers  became LA dodgers-  and ended up securing a 5 nil win against the Phillies. This was the seventh game that was won by Bill Singers.


Los Angeles Dodgers Vs San Francisco Giants (27th June, 1980)


During the game Jerry Reuss was able to help the dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 8-0. Jerry Reuss recorded 17 outs as a result of groundballs.

LA Dodgers Vs St. Louis Cardinals (29th June, 1980)


The dodgers won this game 6-0 as a result of Fernando Valenzuela’s no-hitter. The 7th no-hitter was followed by 7 batters struck out. Fernando also walked 3 facing 30 batters in the process. This date is unique because Dave Steward of the Oakland A’s was able to pitch one no-hitter in too on the same day; hence making it the only day two no-hitters were pitched within 24 hours.

LA Dodgers Against San Francisco Giants (17th August, 1992)


In this game Kevin Gross pitched a no-hitter resulting in the los Angeles dodgers winning 2-0. This was the sixth game he won during that season.
LA Dodgers Vs Florida Marlins (14th July, 1995)


In this game, the LA dodgers beat the Marlins 7-0 thanks to Ramon Martinez’s efforts. During the game, he struck out 8 batters and thus won his ninth game during that season.


Los Angeles Dodgers Vs Colorado Rockies (17th September, 1996)


The game was one 9-0 when the Japanese Hideo Nomo threw a no-hitter, walked four and struck out 8 batters. This was the first time a Japanese would throw a no-hitter in the major leagues. His no-hitter was even more spectacular given the location of the field which was Coors Field reputed to negatively affect a pitcher’s thrown because of its altitude.
