Let’s take a quick look at the top 10 most exciting and spellbound moment in the last 50 years of the LA dodgers’ history. 1. 18th April, 1958 On this day, the LA dodgers played their first game LA at the Los Angeles Coliseum with over seventy eight thousand baseball fans in attendance. Carl Eskine threw the winning pitch while Dick Gray’s home run helped them win San Francisco Giants. 2. 8th, October, 1959 This was the day the Los Angeles dodgers won the Chicago White Sox 4-2 to clinch the World Series. This day was really momentous considering that in the 70 or so years that the Dodgers stayed in Brooklyn, they only won the World Championship once. For both winning and saving two games each, Larry Sherry was given the award of the most valuable player after the game. 3. 6th October, 1963 The los Angeles dodgers made history on this day when they beat the Yankees at the Dodger stadium to walk away with the world championship. Sandy Koufax got the award for the Most Valuable Player in the World Series that day. 4. 9th September, 1965 On this day, Sandy Koufax threw a perfect no-hitter that sent the Chicago Cubs packing. 5. 14th, October, 1965 The Los Angeles dodgers won the Minnesota Twins 4-3 and clinched the World Series in the process. The game was won by a combination of Lou Johnson’s home run and Sandy Koufax’s 3-hitter. 6. 8th October, 1977 The Los Angeles dodgers won the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 to clinch the National league Pennant. This was significant because the last time the dodgers won the pennants was back in 1974. 7. 7th October, 1978 On this day, the dodgers won the national league pennant again for the second time after the Bill Russell hit the center field and drove in Ron Cey with the winning run. 8. 28th October, 1981 The dodgers were able to secure their 4th World championship after losing two games and winning four. 9. 15th October, 1988 Kirk Gibson took this home for the dodgers. In the game against the Oakland A’s, Gibson who has knee and hamstring injuries was sent up to pinch hit. It was an extremely dramatic homerun considering that Kirk could barely walk at all yet, he nailed it shut for the LA dodgers. 10. 2nd October, 2004 Steve Finley drives this one home with his grand slam propelling the dodgers into the postseason.
